1. PANELS ARE SCHEDULED IN 1 OR 2 HOUR BLOCKS. PANELISTS SHOULD PLAN FOR TIME TO SET-UP AND TEAR-DOWN DURING THEIR SCHEDULED TIMES. THIS MEANS PANEL RUN-TIMES WILL BE APPROXIMATELY 40-45 MINS FOR 1 HOUR PANELS OR 100-105 MINS FOR 2 HOUR PANELS.

2. PLEASE ALLOW YOURSELF 5-10 MINUTES TO SET-UP YOUR PANEL. IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE HOOKING UP YOUR LAPTOP OR TABLET TO A PROJECTOR OR TV, PLEASE STOP A STAFF MEMBER FOR INSTRUCTIONS.

3. PANELISTS MUST BEGIN WRAPPING UP THEIR PANEL 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE END OF THE SCHEDULED TIME. PANELISTS AND ATTENDEES SHOULD HAVE CLEARED THE ROOM BEFORE THE END OF THE SCHEDULED TIME.

4. PANELS THAT BEGIN MORE THAN 15 MINUTES LATE CAN STILL CONTINUE, BUT MUST END ON TIME. PANELS THAT BEGIN LATE IN THIS MANNER MAY NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR A PANELIST BADGE THE NEXT YEAR AND MAY NEED TO WAIT A FULL YEAR CYCLE BEFORE APPLYING AGAIN.

5. PANELISTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP ANY TRASH OR BEVERAGES THEY’VE BROUGHT INTO THE ROOM.

6. PLEASE TRY NOT TO REARRANGE THE ROOM OR MOVE THE A/V EQUIPMENT AROUND. IF YOU MUST, THEN PLEASE RESET THE ROOM BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

7. EMERGENCIES HAPPEN. IT’S OKAY. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY OR OTHER OCCURRENCE THAT WILL PREVENT THE PANELIST/S FROM CONDUCTING THEIR SCHEDULED PANEL(S), PLEASE NOTIFY ANIME MAGIC! PANEL STAFF OR BY REACHING OUT TO THE PROGRAMMING MANAGER.

ALL AGES PANEL POLICY:

1. Any panel should be deemed all ages if the material is deemed acceptable for American television or is not rated higher then PG-13.

2. If your panel is “All Ages” the following things are NOT acceptable:

   Any content already outlined specifically for 18+ panels

   Swear words

   Racial slurs

   Hate speech

18+ ADULT PANEL POLICY:

1. Any panel should be deemed 18+ if the material is deemed “adult material” or viewed as “inappropriate for minors”. All panelists for 18+ panels must be 18+ years of age or older on the day of the panel.

2. Panel content that is deemed 18+ includes, but is not limited to:

   Adult language and cursing

   Hentai

   Sexual Intercourse/content

   Nudity or partial nudity

   Sexuality

   Gore

3. The following things will not be tolerated in any panel:

   Racial slurs

   Hate speech

4. Attendees for 18+ panels must present a government issued photo ID showing that they are at least 18 years of age at the time of the panel. No attendee will be admitted to an 18+ panel without the government issued photo ID.

If you’re still not sure if your panel should be considered 18+, please contact us and let’s discuss it, or simply play it safe and label it 18+.

PANEL HOSTS:

• Receive 1x FREE 3-Day Full Weekend Badge

  • Free badge is regardless of number of panels approved.

    • EXAMPLE: If a panel host does 5 panels, they still only get 1 free badge

PANEL ASSISTANTS:

• Receive 1x discounted 3-Day Full Weekend Badge at a rate of $45.

  • Discount only applies for the first 2x panel assistants per panel

  • If a panel assistant is assisting multiple panel hosts or panels, the discount does not stack.

    • EXAMPLE: If a panel assistant is helping on 5 different panels, even with different hosts, they can still only get 1 badge discounted at $45

GENERAL RULES:

• Panel hosts and assistants must pick up their badges in-person ONLY at the convention to receive the free badge and/or assistant discount

• Panelist Badges are non-transferable

• No stacking discounts. The largest discount for your situation shall apply.

  • EXAMPLE: You are a panel host who will also be a panel assistant for a friend’s panel. You will only be eligible for the 1x free badge, you will not receive any additional discounted badge(s).

• There are NO discounts for denied or wait listed applications

• Discounts may not be applied in conjunction with any other discounts (group, service member, coupon, etc)

• You may cancel your panel by informing the panel staff 14 days prior to the start date of the convention without penalty and will still be eligible to sign up for the following year.

• If a panelist, panel assistant, or group is a no-show at a previous convention year, you will not be eligible to host a panel or receive a badge discount for the current year.

• If a badge is purchased prior to the approval of your panelist application, there are no refunds or discounts.

• If a panelist badge is lost, the lost badge replacement free will still remain, even for those panelists who received a free badge. Lost badges may only be replaced ONCE at the discounted rate. After that, the full weekend rate applies.
